From my very first trip back in the late '80s, I’ve been hooked. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of exploring countless destinations – from Budapest to Lisbon, Tulum to Costa Rica, and my beloved Cape Town. In fact, I took 18 trips just last year alone!

My Favourite Places

Cape Town

One of my absolute favourite places in the world is Cape Town. It’s a city that truly has it all, with dramatic mountain landscapes, beautiful beaches, incredible food, and a rich, diverse culture. I love how you can spend the morning hiking up Table Mountain or taking a scenic drive along Chapman’s Peak, and then be sipping world-class wine in the Winelands by the afternoon. There’s an energy to Cape Town that’s hard to describe, a mix of laid-back charm, natural beauty, and vibrant creativity. The people are warm and welcoming, the sunsets are unforgettable, and every time I visit, I discover something new. It’s a place that inspires me and always leaves me wanting to go back.



Budapest

Budapest is another city that holds a special place in my heart. It has a timeless charm, with grand architecture, winding streets, and the beautiful Danube cutting through its centre. I love the mix of history and modern life, from relaxing in the thermal baths to discovering quirky ruin bars tucked away in old buildings. The views from Fisherman’s Bastion at sunset are breathtaking, and the whole city has a magical atmosphere, especially at night when the bridges and landmarks light up. It’s a place that always feels a bit like stepping into a storybook.



Costa Rica

Costa Rica is one of those places that completely captures your sense of adventure. I fell in love with its lush rainforests, stunning beaches, and the incredible biodiversity you see everywhere – from colourful toucans to sleepy sloths. What I love most is the pura vida lifestyle; the people are warm, laid-back, and genuinely connected to nature. Whether you're zip-lining through the jungle, soaking in a natural hot spring, or simply listening to the sounds of the forest, there's something incredibly grounding about being there. It’s a place that reminds you to slow down and appreciate the moment.
