Twenty-two years in the NHS | Multi-Career Adventurer | Grandmother of four

With over twenty-two years in the NHS and a lifetime of varied careers – from retail and driving instruction to earning my HGV license at 21 – I’ve never been one to sit still.

At sixteen, I dreamed of joining the Air Force as a car mechanic, but life had other plans (thanks to a technicality with my mum being a US citizen!).

Now, as part of the Auria Travel family, I’m combining my love for adventure and family with my passion for helping others. I’ve had some truly wonderful holidays with my own family, and I’m excited to help others create lasting memories of their own.

It’s never too late to chase a new dream, and I’m here to help you plan yours.

Best regards,

Pat

My Favourite Places

barcelona

Barcelona is a city that feels alive in every corner, with golden beaches framed by the Mediterranean, Gaudí’s surreal architecture rising like sculptures, and tree-lined boulevards buzzing with cafés and music.

Barcelona’s relaxed rhythm gave me the chance to slow down and savour each experience. I felt immersed in the city’s energy yet free from the rush of everyday life. A highlight was visiting La Sagrada Família; its extraordinary detail and the light pouring through the stained glass created a truly unforgettable atmosphere.

carvoeiro

Carvoeiro felt like discovering a secret cove on the Algarve, where golden cliffs drop into hidden beaches and fishing boats still line the shore. I spent mornings walking the boardwalk above the sea caves, the sound of the Atlantic echoing below, and afternoons drifting between quiet cafés with plates of freshly grilled sardines.

One of the most memorable moments was taking a boat into the Benagil Cave, sunlight pouring through the natural skylight as waves lapped against the sand. In the evenings, the town came alive with music in the square, yet it never lost its laid-back charm. Carvoeiro gave me space to relax while still offering little adventures that made every day feel special.

Canada

Visiting the Alps in summer felt like stepping into a postcard. The meadows were alive with wildflowers, cowbells echoed across the hillsides, and glacial streams cut through the valleys. I tried paragliding over Interlaken, and soaring above the lakes and mountains was both surreal and exhilarating. Even slower days, sitting at a café terrace in Chamonix, watching the mountains glow pink at sunset, left me with memories I’ll never forget. If you’re considering where to go next, Canada is a destination I can’t recommend enough.
