Auria Travel Opening Day!

We’re incredibly proud to announce a huge milestone for Auria Travel. On 26th September 2025 it was the opening of our very first flagship store, right here in Ashby de la Zouch. Located at 1a Kilwardby Street, the new shop brings together everything we love about travel, personal service, expert knowledge, and the excitement of planning something unforgettable.

For founder Markus Kendall-Young, who grew up in Ashby and has spent more than 30 years in the travel industry, the launch is a full-circle moment.

“I’m delighted to bring my lifelong love of travel back to where it all began, my hometown,” Markus says. “Opening a high street agency has been a long-held dream of mine.”

At a time when many travel businesses operate exclusively online, Auria Travel is proudly investing in the local high street. Our new Ashby store creates local job opportunities and gives the community a welcoming space to get expert advice face-to-face.

We celebrated the official opening of the Ashby store on Friday 26 September. Ashby’s Mayor, Damilola Ojuri, performed the ceremonial ribbon cutting. Everyone was welcome to join us and meet the team. They enjoyed some opening-day hospitality and some even started to plan their next great escape.
